The Way of the World Fidelis played Mrs Marwood in Jocelyn Powell’s production of  Congreve’s The Way Of The World at Birmingham University Drama Department

Although she has since then been such a force in the revival of Restoration Drama, thanks largely to her discoveries in The Female Wits , this student production is to date Fidelis’s only performance in a Restoration play.

Fidelis adapted Centlivre’s The Basset Table and Manley’s The Royal Mischief for BBC Radio, and directed Centlivre’s The Custom of the Country – retitled Wedlock Deadlock – at the King’s Head.  She direceted rehearsed readings of Aphra Behn’s The Lucky Chance and Centlivre’s The Basset Table at The Royal Court, London.

Fidelis also directed Wycherley’s The Country Wife at Central School of Speech and Drama and Centlivre’s The Basset Table – re-entitled The Gambling Lady at the University of California
